An Air force brat, Glenn was born in Oklahoma
City. His
early years were spent on the family farm in Winchester, TX. His B-52
Crewman/First Sergeant step-father's assignments took him to Air Force Bases
in Texas, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Mississippi, Indiana, Germany and
Puerto Rico. A 1973 graduate of Ramey High School in Puerto Rico, Glenn and
his wife of 28 years, Cindy Barbo Greenwood, also a graduate of Ramey; have
been running the Ramey High School 70's Alumni Association since 1978.
Glenn attended college in California and Texas, and holds bachelor degrees
in Journalism and Radio-TV-Film production from the University of Texas in
Austin. His professional communications experience includes stints as a
newspaper & radio journalist; university special events/conference
coordinator; educational TV producer; and state agency communications
director. He currently works as the Communications Manager of the Governmental
Relations Division of the Texas Association of School Boards in Austin, TX.
Glenn has written for and been published in several magazines, newspapers
and historical quarterlies. He has worked as a producer/writer and executive
producer on numerous educational television program and series.
Recruited to work with AOSHS in 1996 he served as the facilitator of the
AOSHS vision statement group and was on the site selection committee working
to find a "home" for the Historical Park. Glenn was given the AOSHS
Most Valuable Member Award for 1997-98. He previously served in numerous
positions with the Overseas Brats organization and in 1994 received the very
first Overseas Brats President's Service Award. Additionally, Glenn has
received numerous professional awards and recognition from the Texas School
Public Relations Association.
In his spare time he enjoys participating in fencing with his daughter
Sarah Rosina at the Texas Fencing Academy. He is also an avid herb gardener,
spends time working on the family farm and occasionally finds the time to hunt
and fish with friends.
