MARK HAMILL

Mark Hamill is a Military Brat and an Overseas School Alumnus.  

Hamill attended Kinnick High School (Yo-Hi) in Yokohama, Japan. He graduated as a member of the Class of '69. He was voted the school's best all around and most talented student and served as student council president.  

No surprise, but he was involved in drama productions while attending the school.  

Mark Hamill is best known as Luke Skywalker in several of the Star Wars Movies.

US WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAM 1999 WORLD CUP 

Mia Hamm is a Military Brat and Overseas School Alumnus.  

Mia Hamm was one of the stars of the US Women's soccer team that won the World Cup in 1999.  

When her father was stationed in Germany Mia, age 5,  wanted to play soccer, but at the time there were only boys teams so Mia had  to play with the boys.

ACTRESS

Marcia Gay Harden  nominated for Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2001, is a Navy Brat and Overseas Brat who grew up in Japan, Germany, Texas and New York.  As per the Washington Post 02/21/2001.

EMMYLOU HARRIS
SINGER/SONGWRITER

EmmyLou Harris is a Marine Corps Brat. Her father, Maj. Walter Rutland “Bucky” Harris, USMC was a Marine Corps Pilot shot down and captured during the Korean War.  In the years that followed, he remained on active duty and served as a presidential command pilot in helicopters for every president from Eisenhower through Carter.

Her recently released song, "Bang the Drum Slowly" was written about her father who passed away in 1993.

Robert Hays is an Air Force Brat and an Overseas School Alumnus. He attended Izmir American School in Izmir, Turkey during the Seventh Grade. 

Hays graduated in 1965 from Bellevue High School, Bellevue, Nebraska, home high school of Offutt AFB.  

His most memorable films were 'Airplane' and 'Homeward Bound' and their sequels.

Charlayne Hunter-Gault --Journalist. Noted journalist Charlayne Hunter-Gualt grew up as a military brat as reported in her 1992 autobiography "My Place"   and the Washington Press Club Foundation Women in Journalism oral history project: http://npc.press.org/wpforal/hunt4.htm

Hunter-Gualt's awards include two Emmys and two Peabody awards.  She spent 20 years as the national correspondent for the McNeil-Leherer on PBS.  Additionally, she worked as a reporter for The New Yorker and The New York Times, Hunter-Gault has published articles in The New York Times Magazine, Saturday Review, The New York Times Book Review, Essence and Vogue.

Charlayne Hunter-Gault is CNN's Johannesburg bureau chief and correspondent. Hunter-Gault joined CNN in April 1999 from National Public Radio, where she worked as the network's chief correspondent in Africa.
